Typically I hate Wednesdays, don't you? It's the day where the excitement of a new week has worn off and the weekend is still a ways away. Its similar to mid afternoon where the day starts to catch up to you and all you want to do is take a nap. I think we should sleep through Wednesday. Or at least half of it.
Today, however, shouldn't be too bad. I don't have a lot to do at work so I will be having more fun laughing at those who do have lots to do... until I get roped into helping them. Plus, last night we were all here until 11:30 so it should be a day full of sleep deprived silly people. Or grumpy old farts. Hopefully both so the real fun can take place.
Did you see the sunrise this morning? I know during this time of year we all get depressed because of the inversion and all, but the sunrise was awesome. A couple of stars were still visible and the dark mountains really stood out against the light blue/pink/yellow sky. It was great. It made me think that coming right back to work at 7:00 wasn't too bad.
Have you ever heard of Archimedes? If you haven't, he's known to have coined the term EUREKA! When he discovered the method of measuring the volume of oddly shaped objects by noting the amount of water they displaced. (He discovered this while bathing and was so excited he ran through the streets naked shouting, EUREKA!) So maybe he was a bit eccentric but he was also very smart. He also said one of my favorite all time quotes which is:
"Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world". Just a reminder that no matter how difficult the job, all you need are the right tools.

The Long Road
I have a confession to make to all... I have a strong addiction that I am in no way willing to ever give up. I'm not even going to try. Her name is Carly and I just can never get enough of her! I love that little lady more than anything.
Well, it's getting down to the wire with the I-15 Job we have been chasing. This has led to a lot of long days, nights and weeks. One week I even had 28 hours of overtime. It's great pay, but I miss my little family and my sleep. At this moment it is 8:13 p.m. and alphagraphics is working their buts off printing off our proposals for us. Then we get to assemble them and get them ready to submit to UDOT! Its exciting but I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving week.
Random thought today: it takes Pluto 248 earth years to orbit the sun. That's a long time.
This weekend I am really looking forward to the BYU Airforce game. I think Airforce is better than most think. They took Utah into overtime and lost to TCU by only 3 pts. I think they should be able to give the Cougs a run for their money.
Also, with this blog I am now seriously kicking Carly's butt in our blogging competition. However, we have suspended it since our internet has not been working for the last month. Hopefully after Monday we will have that taken care of.
The Chuck Norris jokes came back to haunt me at work the other day but I really liked the following: "Little Ms. Muffet sat on her tuffet. Until Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked her into a glacier". Yep, my sense of humor is very refined. Anyone else a fan of Elvis? That's not a joke, I really like the song, Surrender.
I better go. I hear my boss.

Our Weekend!
Well I thought I might as well get some pictures on this blog and see if they maybe get duplicated on Carly's. Sorry if they are. But here are some things we did this last weekend: Carly took care of Apollo all Saturday morning while I went to Provo and played football with some high school friends... I am still sore. How come I always end up playing lineman? Don't get me wrong, I love chasing the Quarterback, I even blocked a pass and definitely made them throw some bad passes, but offensive line is a drag. I almost got into a fight too! All because I was right and someone else was wrong and unwilling to admit it. I was rushing the QB and got passed the dummy blocking me, he pushed me in the back and I told him that was illegal (it used to be called clipping and now clipping is when a block in the back occurs at or below the waist and it is now just blocking in the back and a ten yard penalty). Anyways, he said he could do what he wanted and blah blah blah. Only words. Then next play I decided to take it out on the field since thats what you're supposed to do in football. So I rushed real hard, strait into the punk, and yes a hand maybe hit him in the throat/face, but I can honestly say it was accidental and that I got a hand in my face too. Anyway he thinks I have done it on purpose and pushes me after the play is dead. I call him bad words and boys were boys. At have time he apologized and we shook hands it was fun. Long story short, I am still very sore.
I also drove home in a company truck and at the behest of our receptionist took a few pictures of Apollo playing inside the truck and wearing my hard hat. What an awesome kid. We also had one of our favorite dinners, pizza. It's always the most awarding part of the week to come home and hang out with my beautiful wife and great kid. Below are some pics and a video.

A Little Dance
My little boy loves to get attention and loves dancing around! What a cute kid. I'm always surprised when he starts to sing along to a song.

Day 1 - Why the blog oh why the blog
Yes I am a male who is blogging. For those of you stereotypists out there, there are many more like me who are hetero. I hope. Anyways, the grand purpose of this blog is an effort to get my beautiful wife, Carly, more involved in the blogging scheme. I decided I would create a bit of a competition for her. She owns the family blog, and I own this one. Now lets see who can post more pics, video, and most importantly keep updated with family and friends. What are the stakes at risk you might ask? Well that's private...
So for this first entry I would like to explain the blog name/address. Newton and Galileo are two of my heros along with many others who contributed to the current flow of scientific thought and reasoning. You may believe me to be a nerd and that's cool with me. Two quotes as to why: "look at the nerds around you. They will be your bosses!", "Nerds will rule the world". Now that's something I would like, to be your boss and to rule the world! So let the nerdiness in us all ring out louder than the latest fashion, in fact, make it a fashion!
Okay but more seriously I will more than likely just post random thoughts, and stupid things I get myself into and hopefully beat Carly in our little competition. But I would like to rule the world...
